Do you have a love for Africa? Are you feeling the calling of becoming one with a cool tribe of people who want to hang out in the high vibes and raise their vibration through ecstatic drumming?

Have you always wanted to learn how to play the drums? Or have you always had a longing to learn how to understand rhythm, sound, vibration and to be able to create a flowing beat with the likes of other like-minded fun people?
Well…if you said yes to the above then I have the solution for you!

Curt Hannagan (YOGA MEDITATION SOUND) is bringing this very experience to the Yoga Meditation Sound wellness centre in 2018.
Curt has been studying and playing percussion for over 15 years and has decided to share his wealth of knowledge through the teachings of rhythm, flow, control and technique. For now, as the wellness centre is being built, Curt has decided to take action and put on a Drumming Circle every fortnight in Coogee Park to build a community of like-minded people looking to raise their vibration through drumming as a collective community!

You will be a part of a high-vibing group of players, learning the basics of left and right-hand coordination, understand dynamics, hand technique’s and also understand the theory behind different rhythms and how to play to a steady tempo to maintain a flow of sound.

· Drumming releases endorphins, enkephalins and Alpha waves in the brain, which are associated with general feelings of well-being and euphoria…drumming makes us super happy!!!

· Helps control chronic pain. Drumming can certainly serve as a distraction from pain. And, it promotes the production of endorphins and endogenous opiates, which are the body’s own morphine-like painkillers.

· Boosts your immune system. It has been thought that group drumming actually increases natural T-cells, which help the body combat cancer as well as other viruses.

· Creates a sense of connectedness. Drumming circles and group drumming classes provide an opportunity for “synchronicity” in that you connect with your own spirit at a deeper level while also connecting with other like-minded people.

· Aligns your body and mind with the natural world. The Greek origin of the word “rhythm” is “to flow.” Drumming allows you to flow with the rhythms of life by simply feeling the beat.

· Releases negative feelings. The act of drumming can serve as a form of self-expression. You can literally drum out your feelings. When held, negative emotions can form energy blockages. The physical stimulation of hitting the drums can help remove those blockages. Drumming has even been used therapeutically to help addicts deal with their emotions.
Curt will be starting a drumming circle in Coogee beach every fortnight on a Sunday for now until the Retreat centre is open and then the circle will be moved to the wellness centre and be happening once per month.
